Radio Surgery uses high-frequency radio waves (2MHz) to cut, coagulate, or remove soft tissue. The waves heat cellular water, causing steam and dissolving tissue cells. A handpiece with an active electrode transmits the waves, focused by a patient plate behind the tissue. This technique offers advantages over conventional surgery, such as quicker operating times, less tissue damage, and faster healing, especially in dermatology, plastic surgery, ENT, and dental procedures. Unlike electro-surgery or electro-cautery, radio surgery uses a new technique with VHF radio waves (0.5-2 MHz) to precisely vaporize tissue, reducing post-operative discomfort.
